The safari features Masai Mara National Reserve, undoubtedly the richest game reserves in Kenya. This safari not only offers you the opportunity to view abundant game but also the vista of an endless golden savannah. Enjoy visits to Masai Mara, “Jewel in the crown of Kenya’s tourism industry” is known for its big wildlife concentration all the year round, the Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards and Buffalo and not forgetting the Big Cats. Masai Mara Park is famous for its big game all the year round. Accommodation will be at the luxurious Lodges or Luxury Tented Camp.
In case of Emergency, every one of our clients gets a free cover with AMREF Flying Doctors Evacuation service for the duration of the safari. In case of an accident or medical emergency, AMREF Flying Doctors will evacuate the injured or patient to a reputable hospital in Nairobi. This service though covers only rescue hence we recommend that you arrange for the necessary Travel/Medical Insurance at your home country before commencing your travel to Africa.

TRAVEL PLAN
Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Depart from your hotel and drive along the floor the Rift Valley before mounting its western rim into Masai land. Red-clad, with spears always on hand, Maasai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, commendably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Afternoon you have the first game drive in search of wildlife. Masai Mara is probably the best-known game reserve. Dinner and overnight stay at the Mara Sopa Lodge or Sarova Mara Tented Camp. Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve
Take an extensive game drive into the reserve covered with rolling grasslands dotted with acacia and hazy forested hills and river-line bush where the Mara River and its tributaries meander, Masai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 1510 sq Kms of this reserve adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one eco-system. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topis, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra, From June to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas, about 1.8 million wildebeests and Zebras will be swelling the Mara plains in the Month of September, a full day game drive with picnic lunch at the hippo pool on the banks of the Mara River were the crossing of the Gnus [wildebeests] takes place while the killer crocodiles awaits.
Game drives are flexible, with the option of going out with picnic lunch boxes to spend entire day in the park, or you can choose to have early morning and late afternoon game drives. You will also have the option of visiting a local Masai village (US$ 30 per person).

Day 3: Masai Mara Game Reserve – Nairobi
Have an early pre breakfast before exploring another different area of this park, this is to capture the early morning actions, return to your lodge for breakfast, check out after breakfast and depart for Nairobi.

Mara Sopa Lodge
Set in the Oloolaimutia valley the lodge blends perfectly with its surrounding hillside landscape.The accent here is on the Masai people and the fabulous wealth of wildlife, bird life and natural flora to be found in the fabled Mara.
The lodge has direct-dial telephone facilities as well as satellite television and video options. The lodge generators provide 240 volts, 50 cycles 24 hours a day. Every room and suite has a private, elevated verandah with splendid views across the valley and on which guests can relax, sun-bathe and watch resident birds and wildlife. Mini bars are also available.
