This is one of our most popular safaris that cover all the major and most popular game parks and reserves in both Kenya and Tanzania. The safari starts by traversing Kenya’s central and northern sector across the equator line to Aberdare National Park where you will enjoy a night game watching from your room’s balcony overlooking wildlife as they come to drink and salt lick at the water hole under the flood lights. Samburu Game Reserve; a semi arid area where we find most of the rear Animals found in the north of the equator.
From Samburu, the safari goes to Sweetwaters Game Reserve “Ol Pajeta Conservancy” This is a scenic and breathe taking destination with an unforgettable safari experience, get to see the big five and the chimpanzees and Baraka the tamed blind rhino,before proceeding to the floor of the Rift Valley, visiting Lake Nakuru National Park; In addition to the bird population of flamingos that carpet the lake, the Park has a fair share of wildlife including the endangered species such as black rhinos, Rothschild Giraffe and the Columbus monkeys. L.Naivasha; This Park is famous for its natural steaming geysers and a haven for birdwatchers. The walking/ hiking give one sense of freedom, open space and a clear view of wildlife.
The cliffs are breeding grounds for vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, Augur buzzards and thousands of swifts. Over 120 species have been recorded here. The safari proceeds to Amboseli National Park, a scenic and breathe taking destination with Mt. Kilimanjaro on your door step and then into, Maasai Mara Game Reserve, “Jewel in the crown of Kenya’s tourism industry” is known for its big wildlife concentration all the year round, the Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards and Buffalos and not forgetting the Big Cats. With a break in Nairobi, the safari proceeds to Tanzania’s northern parks.
Accommodation in this safari can be a combination of lodge and semi luxury camps on request. In case of emergency, We provide 24/7 Flying Doctors emergency evacuation to the nearest hospital. Our departures are daily, subject to minimum 2 persons booking.
TRAVEL PLAN
Day 1
On Arrival, you will be met and welcomed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our guide, for briefing before being transferred to a Nairobi Hotel ideally situated within the city centre, Dinner and overnight at the Hotel. Meal Plan {BB}.
Day 2: Nairobi – Aberdare National Park
Depart your Nairobi hotel and drive to Aberdare National Park arriving at the base Hotel in time for lunch. Afternoon transfer to a Treetop hotel for game viewing and overnight, enjoy floodlit game viewing. Set in the heart of the Aberdare Forest, this unique game lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and salt lick which attracts a host of wildlife – elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo or giant forest hog. Day 3: Aberdare National Park – Samburu Game Reserve
After breakfast, return to the base hotel, where you will be picked by your guide and proceed north across the equator for Samburu Game Reserve. Arrive by lunchtime. Afternoon game drive follows. Lunch, dinner and overnight at the Mara Sopa Lodge. Meal Plan: {FB}
Day 4: Full day in Samburu Game Reserve
Take extensive game drives in the reserve, a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and Reticulated Giraffe. Morning and afternoon game drives, with an optional visit to a local Samburu village in the mid morning. All meals and overnight at the Mara Sopa Lodge.Meal Plan: {FB}
Day 5: Samburu Game Reserve – Sweetwaters Game Reserve
After early morning breakfast, depart for Mount Kenya, Arrive at the Falcon Heights Hotel in time for lunch. Afternoon at own leisure. Evening game drive in the private sanctuary including a visit to Baraka the tamed blind rhino, the information centre and the Chimpanzee Sanctuary. Day 6: Sweetwaters Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park
After breakfast, depart for the scenic drive along the Aberdare ranges to the floor of the Rift Valley and into Lake Nakuru Nat. Park ” a World Heritage Site & an Ornithological paradise.” with a brief stop at the Thompson Falls. Arrive Lake Nakuru Park in time for lunch and an afternoon game drive. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds in the lake. Also many species of game found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Day 7: Full day in Lake Nakuru National Park
Full day at Lake Nakuru National Park. Early morning and afternoon game drives. Breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge/Camp. Meal Plan {FB}.
Day 8: Lake Nakuru National Park – Masai Mara Game Reserve
Depart Lake Nakuru after breakfast and drive along the floor of the Rift Valley before mounting its western rim into Maasai land. Red-clad, with spears always on hand, Maasai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, commendably unmoved by the presence of large predators, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon you have the first game drive in search of the big prides of lions and other big cats among the different species of wildlife. Maasai Mara is probably the best-known game reserve. Day 9: Full day in Maasai Mara Game Reserve
Take an extensive game drive into the reserve covered with rolling grasslands dotted with acacia and hazy forested hills and reverine bush where the Mara River and its tributaries meander, a full day game drive with picnic lunch at the hippo pool on the banks of the Mara River were the crossing of the Gnus [wildebeests] takes place while the killer crocodiles awaits.
Masai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 1510 sq Kms of this reserve adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one eco-system. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topis, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From June to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas. Day 10: Another day in Masai Mara Game reserve
This is another day out; a very early wake up call to prepare for a half day game drive, returning in your Lodge/Camp for lunch, the afternoon at leisure, you can have a visit to a nearby Masai village before proceeding for an evening game drive at 1600hrs. Day 11: Masai Mara Game reserve – Lake Naivasha
After breakfast Depart for Lake Naivasha to check in at the Lodge in time for Lunch – the highest and purest of the Great Rift Valley lakes. Enjoy a refreshing boat cruise on the lake. This area is famous for its bird life – a breeding ground for pelicans, fish eagles, cormorants and hundreds of hippos, proceed to the crescent island where you will have a whole afternoon guided walk safari within the many animals of the plains, it is one of the few places in all Africa where you can wander on foot among herds of zebras, wildebeest, and giraffes (No predators no fences). Day 12: Lake Naivasha – Amboseli National Park
After breakfast, depart for Amboseli National Park. Arrive in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive follows at 1600hrs. This park is known for its prolific elephant population and the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro setting. It is a home for the wet land birds as the park is dominated by swamps. Day 13: Full day in Amboseli National Park
Full day in Amboseli with game drives at 0630 hrs and 1600 hrs. Amboseli National Park, at the foot of Africa’s highest mountain, Kilimanjaro, is one of Kenya’s most popular national parks. It lies 150 miles south-east of Nairobi, very close to the Tanzania border. The snow-capped peak of Mount Kilimanjaro rising above the clouds dominates every aspect of Amboseli. Day 14: Amboseli National Park – Arusha
After breakfast, depart with a brief game viewing en route and to the Kenya Tanzania border Namanga, after your immigration formalities proceed to Arusha arriving in the evening. Overnight stay at The Impala Hotel.
Day 15: Arusha – Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After breakfast, depart for Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Arrive at the lodge/Camp in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive follows. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/Camp. Meal plan {FB}.
Day 16: Ngorongoro Crater National Reserve
After breakfast descend some 600metres into the crater, which is home to an abundance of wildlife and a photogenic paradise, for a full day’s game-viewing drive. We will enjoy lunch at a picnic site by the Crater Lake teeming with hippos. Return to the Lodge/Camp late afternoon with a welcome cup of tea or coffee. Meal plan {FB}.
Day 17: Ngorongoro Crater National Reserve – Serengeti National Park
Depart Ngorongoro after breakfast for Serengeti’s magical golden horizon is transformed into an endless green carpet, flecked with wildflowers. The famous plains are interspersed with wooded hills, towering termite mounds, monumental rocky kopjes, and rivers lined with elegant acacia trees. Continue with a game-viewing drive to Serengeti as you check-in at the lodge for lunch. Proceed for an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at the Lodge/ Camp. Meal Plan: {FB}
Day 18: Full day in Serengeti National Park
Full day in the Serengeti’s endless plains. Triggered by the seasonal rains, more than 1,800,000 wildebeest, 400,000 zebra and 300,000 Thomson’s gazelle gather to undertake their long trek to new grazing lands. The wildebeest rutting season is a frenzied three week long bout of territorial conquests and mating, followed by survival of the fittest as the 40 km long columns plunge through crocodile infested waters on the annual exodus north. Serengeti is renowned for its wealth of leopard and lion. The vast reaches of the park are a hiding place for the endangered black rhino and provide a protected breeding ground for the vulnerable cheetah, alongside the Serengeti’s thousands of other diverse species, from the 500 varieties of bird to 100 different types of dung beetle. Day 19: Serengeti National Park – Arusha – Zanzibar
After early breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the air strip to catch your flight to Zanzibar. Overnight in Zanzibar in a hotel of your choice at own arrangements.
Day 20-23: Zanzibar
Days spent in Zanzibar at own arrangements.
Day 24: Zanzibar-Nairobi
After breakfast, depart for the airport for flight to Nairobi. On arrival, check-in for international flight home.
