ABOUT

This safari running for 10 days/9 nights and features all of Kenya’s most popular game parks and sanctuaries takes you from Nairobi and starts in Masai Mara Game Reserve, “Jewel in the crown of Kenya’s tourism industry” is known for its big wildlife concentration all the year round, the Lions, Elephants, Rhinos, Leopards and Buffaloes and not forgetting the Big Cats. Then into the legendary land of L. Naivasha; This Park is famous for its natural steaming geysers and a haven for birdwatchers. The walking/ hiking give one sense of freedom, open space and a clear view of wildlife. The cliffs are breeding grounds for vultures, Verreaux’s eagles, Augur buzzards and thousands of swifts. Over 120 species have been recorded here. L. Bogoria, a shallow soda lake hosting thousands of pink flamingos, a number of other birds and lesser kudu. Scalding hot springs and geysers at the southern end of the lake spurt and steam their alkaline waters. The bubbling of hot springs, hundreds of singing weaver birds and a million flamingos feeding in the bluish water presents a rare scenic beauty. L. Baringo, This is one of the two fresh water lakes in the rift valley and a bird watchers paradise; it has over 460 recorded bird species and home to hippos and crocodiles. L. Nakuru National Park; In addition to the bird population of flamingos that carpet the lake, the Park has a fair share of wildlife including the endangered species such as black rhinos, Rothschild Giraffe and the Columbus monkeys. Finally to Samburu Game Reserve; in a semi arid area where we find most of the rear Animals found in the north of the equator then back to Nairobi.

Accommodation in this safari can be a combination of lodge and semi luxury camps on request.

TRAVEL PLAN

Day 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara Game Reserve

On Arrival, you will be met and welcomed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport by our guide, after briefing, depart and drive across the floor of the Rift Valley before mounting its western rim into Masai land. Red-clad, with spears always on hand, Masai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, commendably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Day 2: Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve

Take an extensive game drive into the reserve covered with rolling grasslands dotted with acacia and hazy forested hills and river-line bush where the Mara River and its tributaries meander,
Masai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 1510 sq Kms of this reserve adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one eco-system. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topis, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From June to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas, a full day game drive with picnic lunch at the hippo pool on the banks of the Mara River where the crossing of the Gnus [wildebeests] takes place while the killer crocodiles await. Day 3: Another day in Masai Mara

This is another day out, a very early wake up call to prepare for exploring another different area of this park, this is to capture more actions and excitements, return to the lodge for lunch, afternoon at leisure, an evening game drive follows at 1600hrs. Day 4: Masai Mara Game Reserve – L. Naivasha (Hells Gate) National Park

After breakfast, leave for Naivasha arriving in time for lunch where you will visit Hells Gate National Park. The park is famous for its natural steaming geysers and a haven for birdwatchers. Day 5: L. Naivasha (Hells Gate) National Park -Lake Bogoria

After breakfast, proceed to Lake Bogoria. This is a shallow soda lake hosting thousands of pink flamingos, a number of other birds and lesser kudu. Scalding hot springs and geysers at the southern end of the lake spurt and steam their alkaline waters. The bubbling of hot springs, hundreds of singing weaver birds and a million flamingos feeding in the bluish water presents a rare scenic beauty.
Proceed to Lake Baringo for lunch. This is one of the two fresh water lakes in the Rift Valley and a bird watchers paradise. It has over 460 recorded bird species and is home to hippos and crocodiles. Check in for lunch at the lodge. After lunch, proceed to a boat ride in the lake with a resident ornithologist. Day 6: Lake Baringo-Lake Nakuru National Park

After breakfast, drive to Lake Nakuru arriving in the mid-morning. Proceed to a short game drive en route to the lodge/camp for lunch. After two hours relaxation, proceed to a game drive. Lake Nakuru is the home to a million plus flamingos, the white rhino and about 350 different species of birds. It is known as ornithological paradise. Dinner and overnight at the L. Nakuru lodge. Day 7: Nakuru National Park – Samburu Game Reserve

After breakfast, drive north cross the tips of the Aberdare Mountains stopping briefly to admire the 73m plunge of the Thompson Falls. Cross the equator and the beautiful wheat farms on the Mt Kenya slopes to the semi-desert region of Samburu, arriving on time for lunch. Evening game viewing, dinner and overnight at the Samburu Ashnil Tented Camp. Meal Plan {FB}.

Day 8: Full Day in Samburu Game Reserve

Experience a morning and evening game viewing in the beautiful rugged terrain with its vast array of birds and wildlife as they frequent the banks of the Uaso Nyiro River. Evening game drive is ideal for spotting the rare lioness famous for its unusual ability to adopt various antelopes especially the Oryx. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Ashnil Tented Camp. Day 9: Samburu Game Reserve – Aberdare National Park (Treetops)

Leave Samburu for treetops via Nanyuki to arrive at Outspan hotel (the base for treetops) in time for lunch. The current British queen was holidaying at the Treetops Hotel when she received the news about her father’s death and her ascension to the throne.
After lunch, you will be transferred to Treetops Hotel. Game viewing from your room’s balcony, where you have a fantastic view of the animals that flock the floodlit waterhole and saltlick below. Dinner and overnight at the Tree Hotel.

Day 10: Aberdare National Park -Nairobi

After a hearty breakfast you will be transferred to your base hotel where you will be picked by your driver guide and drive back to Nairobi.
