11 Days Simba Safari

You will be received at the airport and transferred to your hotel for overnight stay in preparation for the start of the Safari. Evening Safari briefing will be given. Overnight at a Nairobi Hotel. Masai Mara Game Reserve Park is famous for its big game all the year round; The migration of the wildebeests crossing from Serengeti to Masai Mara starts as early as June, so in August, September and October the Wildebeests [Gnu] are in massive, about 1.8 million Gnus, 400,000 zebras will already be in Masai Mara. Day 1 Nairobi Excursion

This is a busy day, we will start with a visit to the David Sheldrick Elephant & Rhino orphanage, Giraffe center where you will have an opportunity to touch and feed the endangered species of the Rothschild giraffe, lunch at the Carnivore Restaurant, We will then proceed to Karen Blixen. You’ll then be drop at your Hotel in the evening.

Day 2 Nairobi-Masai Mara Game Reserve

Depart from your Nairobi hotel and drive along the floor the Rift Valley before mounting its western rim into Masai land. Red-clad, with spears always on hand, Maasai warriors tend their herds of cattle among the wildlife, commendably unmoved by the presence of large predators. Afternoon you have the first game drive in search of wildlife. Masai Mara is probably the best-known game reserve. Dinner and Overnight at the Mara Simba Lodge. Meal Plan {FB}.

Day 3 Full day in Masai Mara Game Reserve

Take an extensive game drive into the reserve covered with rolling grasslands dotted with acacia and hazy forested hills and river-line bush where the Mara River and its tributaries meander,
Masai Mara is considered by many to be Kenya’s finest game reserve, the 1510 sq Kms of this reserve adjoin Tanzania’s well-known Serengeti, forming one eco-system. The open rolling savannah grassland of the Mara is the home of numerous wildlife species including elephant, rhino, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyena, jackal, buffalo, eland, topis, impala, gazelle, warthog and zebra. From June to September, the annual Wildebeest migration takes place when thousands of these animals sweep across the plain and seek out new grazing areas, a full day game drive with picnic lunch at the hippo pool on the banks of the Mara River where the crossing of the Gnus [wildebeests] takes place while the killer crocodiles awaits. Day 4 Masai Mara Game Reserve – Lake Nakuru National Park

An early morning pre breakfast game-drive then depart Masai Mara after breakfast and drive past the Loita plains to the floor of the Rift Valley and into Lake Nakuru Nat park, “Ornithological paradise” Arrive Lake Nakuru National Park in the evening, check in at your Lodge/camp for dinner and overnight. Besides the flamingos that the lake is famous for, there are approx 400 other species of birds in the lake. Also many species of game found in the park including the introduced Rothschild’s giraffe, black and white rhino, waterbuck, reedbuck, lion, buffalo, leopard, baboon and many species of plains game. Day 5 Lake Nakuru National Park -Mt. Kenya National Park

After breakfast, depart for Mountain Lodge. Arrive at the lodge by lunchtime. This is a tree lodge in the heart of the mountain forest. The saltlick here attracts animals such as elephant and buffalo among many others. Lunch, dinner and overnight at Serena Mountain Lodge. Meal Plan {FB}.

Day 6 Mt. Kenya National Park – Samburu Game Reserve

The safari moves on to Samburu Game Reserve, the semi arid region of the nomadic Samburu people. Game drive after lunch allows viewing of the rare local species of Zebra and Giraffe. Overnight at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at the Samburu Ashnil Tented Camp . Meal Plan {FB}.

Day 7 Full Day in Samburu Game Reserve

Full day in Samburu, with an early morning and late afternoon game drive. Samburu is a beautiful and game abundant park, home to rarely found species such as the Beisa Oryx, Grevy’s zebra, blue-necked Somali ostrich and reticulated giraffe. Day 8 Samburu Game Reserve – Nairobi – Mombasa

Depart for Nairobi. Arrive in time for lunch. Rest of the afternoon at leisure before caching an evening flight to Mombasa. Transfer to exclusive Whitesands Beach Hotel. Meal Plan: {HB}

Day 9 Day spent in Mombasa

Welcome to the beach! Numerous activities on offer, including water sports (day activities at own coast). Overnight at hotel. Meal Plan: {HB}

Day 10 Full day at Whitesands Beach Hotel

Enjoy the excellent cuisine at this hotel, which is designed in Swahili style, (day activities at own coast). Meal Plan: {HB}

Day 11

Catch your 45 minute flight back to Nairobi.
